Project Overview
We were part of the design-build team that provided lighting retrofits to 39 Dignity Healthcare facilities across California, Nevada and Arizona. These retrofits were designed to improve illumination levels and reduce energy costs throughout the Dignity Healthcare system. The energy savings, rebates and incentives will reduce operational costs over time and improve treatment for patients.

Solution
Our comprehensive field investigations identified the function of facility spaces, type and quantity of existing fixtures, lamp and ballast combinations, type of lighting controls, type of existing ceilings, day lit and intermittently occupied areas, existing footcandle levels, color of surfaces and emergency power to egress light fixtures. We also produced photometric calculations to identify the optimum LED and driver combination to replace existing fixtures, maximize operation and maintenance savings and meet required illumination levels. We developed a site work plan to identify the scope of work relating to the replacement and retrofit of existing fixtures, as well as selected appropriate replacement fixtures in patient rooms and restrooms.
