  • Project Overview

Anaheim Elementary School District operates 24 PreK-6 schools serving 18,500 students in Anaheim and its surrounding cities. When the district decided to apply for Prop 39 funds for energy conservation measures (ECMs), they sought our help to create the requisite Energy Expenditure Plan (EEP) for the California Energy Commission. The EEP will include all 24 schools in the district, as well as three support facilities. With an approved EEP in hand, P2S is now helping the district implement the plan, measure and verify (M&V) project savings and provide energy training to district personnel.

  • Solution

Securing Prop 39 funds for K-12 and community college districts is one of our specialties. When we saw the district’s energy audit, we knew we could devise an EEP full of projects to reduce energy consumption and meet the district’s goals of increasing diversity, reducing fossil fuel dependence, enhancing the economic value of its assets, improving environmental quality and educating students and the community on the benefits of energy conservation and renewable energy generation. The energy savings and reduced environmental impact that come from upgraded HVAC equipment and LED lighting retrofits can truly make a difference. Prop 39 funds give schools the resources they need to make that difference a reality.
