  • The Impact of KVA Ratings on Port Electrification

Learn how an accurate KVA rating can:

    Reduce your monthly utility costs

    Prevent material handling equipment failure

    Minimize equipment repairs and downtime

Help your port achieve zero emission standards

  • Ports & Harbor Experience

From terminal and backland infrastructure to shore and crane power, our experts understand the nuts and bolts of waterfront operations, and how to ensure that they run efficiently.

    Port of Long Beach

Piers C, F & J Shore to Ship Power Retrofits

By the year 2020, the State of California will require 80% of fleet calls at ports to use shore power instead of burning diesel engines while at berth. P2S co-founder, Kevin Peterson, developed the international standards for shore-to-ship power, which cuts air pollution from ships at berth by 95%. The Port requested electrical engineering services for the $7.5 million retrofit of Pier C, the $2.8 million retrofit of Pier F, and $3.7 million retrofit of Port J to set the necessary infrastructure for shore power.

    Electrical Infrastructure Assessment

Port of Long Beach, Three-phase electrical assessment enhances port capabilities

Our engineers conducted an electrical assessment for the Port of Long Beach. This assessment was meant to determine the best way to validate and correct existing electrical design records, including as-built plans, site plans, electrical single-line diagrams, source and load charts, and GIS map information. Correcting deficiencies in these documents will enhance the Port’s understanding of its electrical power capabilities and business continuity needs. The scope of work included a survey of the electrical infrastructure and risk mitigation services for 11 locations at the Port.
