ACEC CA 2025 Engineering Excellence Award

P2S has been honored with the ACEC CA Merit Award for our work on the California State University, Northridge (CSUN) Maple Hall. P2S worked together with Gilbane Construction Co. and Gensler & Associates serving as the lead engineering consultants to provide MEP and Fire Protection design for this project. This is the campus’ first new academic classroom building since Chaparral Hall, which opened in 2009. The new addition on the west side of campus, one of the university’s most frequented areas, introduces essential educational spaces. Through a collaborative design-build approach, the building prioritizes natural lighting and flexible spaces, incorporates the latest in audio-visual technology, and is aiming for LEED Gold Certification.

P2S integrated energy-saving technologies such as LED lighting, Air Source Heat Pumps, and heat recovery chillers, to significantly lower operational expenses and deliver enduring economic advantages. The design also diminishes the necessity for future modifications, offering a cost-effective solution that satisfies both present and anticipated requirements.

Congratulations to the project team for bringing engineering excellence to the CSUN campus.

The ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards honors outstanding engineering achievements that demonstrate innovation, complexity, and value to society.
